East Midlands Airport is an international airport located in Leicestershire close to Castle Donington. It lies between Derby (14 miles), Nottingham (15 miles) and Leicester (18 miles), so well situated for the industrial heart of the country.

It is a major air cargo hub, in fact the second busiest UK airport for freight traffic in 2015. It's the 11th busiest point of entry in the country for imports and 7th for exports.

As a general rule, high value goods travel by air, low value by sea; and looking at the import data you can see a trend there, and that is reflected in the local warehousing. You need good, secure, high quality warehouses to look after these goods and there's plenty of it about in the East Midlands area.
