Located on the north side of the Severn Estuary, connected to the rail network, and within easy reach of the M4 motorway, the port has expertise in the handling of containers, steel, forest products, and bulk cargoes, handling around 1.7 million tonnes annually.
There are extensive storage and dedicated handling facilities for a variety of liquid bulk cargoes available at three terminals.
Transit and distribution shed capacity amounts nearly 40,000 sq m. There is open hard-standing storage of over 12 hectares, with a further 10.6 hectares managed by an independent terminal operator. There is over 5,300 sq m of chilled, ambient and frozen warehousing space with computerised stock-control.
Nearby there are a number of third party logistics (3PL) providers based along the M4 - at Pontyclun, Bridgend, Crosskeys and Newport. Stowga have found short term pallet storage for several clients recently in and around Cardiff.
